Getting Started
What is fotolokashen?
Fotolokashen helps production crews capture locations with GPS, photos, and notes. Search, share, and plan from any device. Every shoot becomes shared team knowledge.
How do I create an account?
Visit fotolokashen.com or download the iOS app. Tap Create Account and follow the prompts. You must be 18 or older to use the service.
Is there a mobile app?
Yes — fotolokashen is available on iOS. The mobile app lets you scout locations in the field, capture photos with GPS data, and sync everything back to your team in real time.
Locations
How do I save a location?
On the web: Navigate to the Map view, click on the map or use the search bar, then click Save Location. Add a name, notes, tags, and photos.
On iOS: Tap the + button, allow location access, and the app will capture your GPS coordinates automatically. Add photos, notes, and tags.
Can I edit a saved location?
Yes. Open any location and tap/click the Edit button to update the name, notes, address, tags, or photos.
How do I share locations with my team?
Adjust your privacy settings to share locations with friends (followers) or make them public. Your team members can then view your locations on their own map.
What happens to my photos when I upload them?
Photos are compressed and uploaded to our CDN (ImageKit) for fast loading across devices. Important: the original image quality is permanently changed during compression. Do not use fotolokashen as your primary photo storage.
Account & Privacy
How do I change my password?
Go to Profile → Account & Security → Change Password. You'll need your current password to set a new one. After changing your password, you'll be logged out of all devices.
How do I change my email address?
Go to Profile → Account & Security → Change Email. Enter your new email and current password. A verification link will be sent to your new email address. The change won't take effect until you confirm.
How do I change my username?
Go to Profile → Account & Security → Change Username. Enter your new username and current password. Note: you can only change your username once per 30 days (max 3 per year).
How do I control who sees my locations?
Go to Profile → Privacy Settings. You can set your default visibility for new locations and control whether your profile appears in search results.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Profile → Account & Security → Delete Account. This permanently removes your account, all locations, photos, and data. This action cannot be undone.
Troubleshooting
I can't log in
- Make sure you're using the correct email and password
- Try the Forgot Password link on the login page
- Clear your browser cookies for fotolokashen.com and try again
- If you're on iOS, make sure you have a stable internet connection
The map isn't loading
- Check your internet connection
- Make sure location permissions are enabled for fotolokashen
- Try refreshing the page or restarting the app
- If the issue persists, contact support
My photos aren't uploading
- Check your internet connection — photo uploads require a stable connection
- Make sure the image is under 10MB
- Supported formats: JPEG, PNG, WebP
- On iOS, make sure fotolokashen has permission to access your photo library
